Dr. Kim Hee-Jun
Orthopedic surgeon trained at Severance Hospital. Founder of Nucellin Orthopedic Clinic, Hannam-dong, Seoul.
The doctor who reads your imaging is the doctor who treats you
Nucellin is a single-physician clinic. There is no coordinator between you and your doctor, and nothing is decided about your care by someone who has not examined you. Dr. Kim consults, examines and treats in English himself.

Publications and writing
Dr. Kim writes regularly on musculoskeletal medicine. His published clinical articles cover regenerative medicine, the limits of imaging, clinical decision-making and the science of pain, and are collected in the Clinical Insight library on this site. Every article carries his name.
He is also the author of a clinical decision framework for musculoskeletal care, developed to keep treatment decisions consistent, physician-led and honest about when treatment is not the answer.
Philosophy of care
We do not treat MRI findings. We treat people whose bodies have lost the ability to adapt.
A scan is one piece of evidence. It is not the diagnosis. Meniscus tears, disc bulges and cartilage thinning appear on the scans of people who feel nothing at all, and Dr. Kim's writing returns to this point often: the question is not where is the damage, but why is the body still protecting this area.
In practice, that means examination before imaging review, an honest read on whether treatment here would help you, and a stated preference for the least invasive option that can actually change your situation. When surgery is the right answer, he will say so, and refer you on.
Where he practises
Nucellin occupies a single floor in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu. See the full clinic on the Contact page.
