Insurance and payment

How paying for treatment works, whether you live in Korea or are travelling here. The short version: you will always see a written estimate before you commit to anything.

Estimates before you commit

Every treatment plan from this clinic includes a written estimate. You receive it before you book a flight, before you schedule a procedure, and before you pay anything.

Cost depends on which joint is involved, which treatment is recommended and how many sessions it takes. That is why we do not publish a price list: a single number would mislead more than it helps. What we can promise is that you will never discover the cost after the fact.

Korean National Health Insurance (NHIS)

If you live in Korea and are enrolled in NHIS, coverage depends on the type of care. As a general rule in Korea, standard orthopedic consultations and many conventional treatments fall under national insurance, while regenerative procedures such as stem cell therapy and Activated PRF are typically non-covered (비급여) services.

What applies to your specific case will be confirmed at the clinic before treatment. Ask when you book, and bring your ARC (Alien Registration Card).

TRICARE and military-affiliated patients

We are asked about TRICARE often enough that it deserves a straight answer, and the honest one is: contact us first. Whether and how your TRICARE plan applies depends on your plan type and on the claim route, and we would rather confirm the specifics with you than promise something a form later contradicts.

Either way, you will receive itemised English documentation that you can submit with a claim.

Travel and international insurance

If you carry travel insurance or an international health plan, most claims are reimbursed after treatment rather than billed directly. We provide what the claim needs: an itemised receipt, a treatment summary in English, and supporting records written by the treating physician, not a billing department.

Check two things with your insurer before you travel: whether planned (non-emergency) treatment is covered, and whether regenerative procedures are included in your policy.

Payment methods

Payment details are confirmed with your treatment plan. If a specific payment method matters to you, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm before you commit.

Insurance questions

Do you accept Korean national insurance (NHIS)?
It depends on the treatment. Standard orthopedic care generally falls under NHIS in Korea, while regenerative procedures are typically non-covered services. We confirm what applies to your case before treatment, so ask when you book.
Do you accept TRICARE?
Contact us first and we will confirm the specifics for your plan type before you commit to anything. Whatever the answer, you receive itemised English documentation you can submit with a claim.
Can you provide documents for my insurance claim at home?
Yes. You receive an itemised receipt, an English treatment summary and supporting records written by the treating physician, in the format most travel and international insurers ask for.
How do I pay as a visitor?
Payment details are confirmed together with your written treatment plan, before you commit. If a specific payment method matters to you, tell us when you enquire.
