Your first orthopedic visit in Seoul

What to send before booking, what to bring and how to discuss assessment, costs and follow-up at Nucellin.

Before the appointment

Start with a short account of the problem

To arrange orthopedic care in Seoul, contact Nucellin with the area that hurts, when it started and how it affects your activities. Include any recent injury, earlier diagnosis and treatment already tried. If you have limited time in Korea, add your arrival and departure dates.

You can send existing medical reports or imaging for preliminary review. This helps the clinic discuss the likely assessment process and appointment arrangements. It does not establish a diagnosis or mean a particular treatment has been agreed.

Bring with you

A practical appointment checklist

  • Available MRI or X-ray images and their written reports.
  • A summary of previous treatment, including dates and your response.
  • A current medication list and relevant medical history.
  • Your questions and the activities you want to return to.
  • For Korean National Health Insurance, your Korean Residence Card or another accepted form of identification.
  • Any insurer instructions about referrals, authorisation or claim documents.

If a record is missing, tell the clinic what you can obtain before the visit. Do not assume an appointment requires new imaging. The doctor decides whether more information is needed for the assessment.

Costs and timing

Separate assessment from the treatment decision

Your first visit may lead to advice, further tests or a proposed treatment plan. Consultation and imaging costs are different from the price of a procedure or a course of rehabilitation. Ask what is included in an estimate and what would require a separate decision.

If you are visiting Korea, discuss the time needed for assessment, treatment and review before fixing travel plans around a procedure. The required schedule depends on the diagnosis and the proposed care. A confirmed appointment does not confirm that treatment can be completed during a short stay.

Practical questions

Before you book

Can I arrive without a confirmed appointment?

Contact the clinic first to check availability and the most appropriate appointment arrangement. Do not assume that a particular same-day time is available.

Should I book an MRI before the visit?

Bring existing imaging if you have it. An MRI is not required for every visit; the doctor will explain whether additional imaging is needed.
